Rock-Paper-Scissors

How fast can you rock-paper-scissors and win every single time?
A robot created by Japanese scientist can do it, with the help of high speed recognition and reaction.
It is able to win every time by focusing on the shape the hand is making and quickly making a move that gives it the victory.

The major aspect here is Sensor Fusion.
Using high speed intelligent robots to help improve human senses, hear more, see more, feel more, smell more, being more accurate, sounds like becoming super humans to me.

However it sounds like its still a long way from perfection due to the words from professor Sethu Vijayakumar, robotics at Edinburgh University, "These robots are really fast at reaction, but there are scenarios where even a millisecond's delay is not acceptable".

What do you think about having super senses?

  1. It would be could, but also scary that people can play god and try and improve their physical attributes. How long with this technology could the creator yield to the created? -Keiran

  2. I am not entirely sure, and human beings do get "carried away". But never the less, mistakes are there to be learnt from.

    1. this is not yet confirmed because the technology has yet to be tested on life forms.
