The Ray-Ban Shama Shades

Ok, obviously it's sunglasses....sunglasses.....sunglasses...glasses that are exposed to direct sunlight most of the time...hhhmmm.
Why not harness that sun power apparently designer Sayalee Kaluskar thought to himself, so he came up with these.

These cool shades just got cooler, absorbing the suns powerful rays, converting and storing that energy for charging your iphone.
Another example you wearable technology, not only that but it's a "GREEN". Ask me what to I mean by "green" in the comments section, unless you can decode that for yourself.
This is not really the surprise though they are cool and functional. The fact that this was created as providing a means of pure and clean energy creating medium for our devices is. Proof that technology is advancing and fighting to cut down and pollutions.
What I'm now left wondering is that will there be some cable connector so that the shades can be compatible with other smartphones and mini devices as well. For example I own a blackberry.
Plus It will be a very rewarding marketing strategy for Ray-Ban.

  1. This is a fascinating idea, which, quite frankly should have been implemented sooner. Most smartphones these days don't even last the whole day on a single charge. This would help most power users get through the day no problem - Keiran

  3. Ok I applaud wearable technology some times its Great that fashion designers are thinking of our planet by harnessing natural energy sources to make a more "greener" earth, but I seriously think when they come up with these ideas they don't think of the health issues or implications. I think that things like these the solar powered bikni and the solar powered shades can lead to some kind sickness more so skin cancer in my opinion. A solution though might be test these things so as to reassure the public that its safe for your health as well, cause yeah its great to have a charge on the go and maybe look cool while doing it but Hey RAY BAN !! We don't to look cool and Green at the cost of our health
